KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man robbed a Kansas City restaurant Tuesday night armed with a samurai sword, police said.
The
suspect entered Church's Chicken, at 55th and Prospect, just before 10
p.m. Tuesday wearing a dark-gray hooded sweatshirt and carrying the
sword, according to a statement from the Kansas City Police Department.
The man was described as a light-skinned black male standing between 5 foot 4 and 5 foot 5, weighing 120 to 130 pounds.
The suspect drove off in an older-model brown two-toned Chevy pickup truck, possibly from the 1980s.
If you know anything about what happened, you are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.

They called Greg Norman the shark. This is his back story.
Ok this is the situation: You're having a pleasant afternoon with your buddies, playing the links at San Juan Hills Golf Club.
You arrive at the 12th tee box at the San Juan Capistrano course and there you see it: A shark, very much alive and thrashing around on the grass.
OK, so it was only a 2-foot-long shark, but still.
"Shark falling from the sky, kind of odd," said Melissa McCormack, director of club operations at San Juan Hills.
The fish was actually found about 4 p.m. Monday by a golf course employee, who picked it up, put it into the back of his golf cart and drove it to the clubhouse, she said. A group of golfers had just left the tee before the shark was spotted.
The shark had two puncture wounds, which made McCormack think a predatory bird had scooped the fish up out of the water, dropping the shark down onto the course. She first relayed the story to the Capistrano Dispatch.
"It was just wriggling around. He needed to get to the ocean right away," McCormack said, adding that it appeared to be a leopard shark.
After a quick dip in fresh water – since McCormack and the employee weren't sure if the small shark could survive if placed in a tank of fresh water – the animal was quickly driven out to the nearby ocean.
Still alive, the shark was dropped back into the sea near Dana Point, where it undoubtedly went on to finish its round with an eagle or two. Or maybe just a birdie

Man Sues Sexual Supplement Company For Genital Damage
HOUSTON (Texas) – A Texas man has sued a
sexual enhancement supplement company for allegedly causing his penis to
fracture in a disturbing incident at a Houston motel.
Adrian Carter, 29, blames the supplement VirilisPro he bought last year, but urologists have told ABC News that penile fractures are most often the result of rough sex.
According to the lawsuit, Carter purchased the supplement in the “early morning hours” at a Chevron gas station on his way to the Scottish Inn. There, he engaged in sexual intercourse with his “paramour.”
During intercourse, Carter experienced “significant pain and observed a large quantity of blood squirting out of his penis onto the sheets, walls and mirror,” according to the lawsuit filed on Aug. 27 in Harris County, Texas.
“It was pretty horrific to view the pictures,” Carter’s lawyer,
Melissa Moore, told ABCNews.com. “I know it sounds unusual…He was young
and healthy and on no other meds at the time he took the supplement.”
Emergency room doctors had to “deglove” Carter’s penis in order to repair it, rendering him unable to have sex or future children, Carter claims.
The drug manufacturers Haute Health Limited Liability Company, Carney & Carney Financial Services, Solid Rock Worship Company and individuals Michael Heilig and Tyra Carney have all been named in the lawsuit. All are located in New Jersey.
The website for VirilisPro says the supplement is “made with only natural ingredients to prevent harmful side effects.” It advertises improvements in sexual performance that includes a harder erection, a more intense orgasm and a lower recovery time.
Male consumers are instructed to take it 30 minutes before intercourse and only use one pill in a 36-hour period. The ad warns the user to “always check with a healthcare professional” first.
According to the lawsuit, Carter is seeking medical expenses and punitive damages for product liability, negligence, breach of warranty, deceptive trade, mental anguish, pain and suffering and “past and future loss of consortium.”
The Food and Drug Administration doesn’t regulate dietary supplements in the same way as food or drugs. But the FDA can take action against any supplement deemed unsafe, according to their guidelines.

Never Pretend to be Big Foot
A man dressed in a military-style "ghillie" suit and apparently
trying to provoke reports of a Bigfoot sighting in northwest Montana was
struck by two cars and killed, authorities said.
The man was standing in the right-hand lane of U.S. Highway 93 south of Kalispell on Sunday night when he was hit by the first car, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. A second car hit the man as he lay in the roadway, authorities said.
Flathead County officials identified the man as Randy Lee Tenley, 44,
of Kalispell. Trooper Jim Schneider said motives were ascertained
during interviews with friends, and alcohol may have been a factor but
investigators were awaiting tests.
"He was trying to make people think he was Sasquatch so people would call in a Sasquatch sighting," Schneider told the Daily Inter Lake on Monday. "You can't make it up. I haven't seen or heard of anything like this before. Obviously, his suit made it difficult for people to see him."
Ghillie suits are a type of full-body clothing made to resemble heavy foliage and used to camouflage military snipers.
"He probably would not have been very easy to see at all," Schneider told KECI-TV.
Tenley was struck by vehicles driven by two girls, ages 15 and 17, who were unable to stop in time, authorities said.

GORILLA ACCIDENTALLY HANGS HIMSELF
A gorilla has died in the Prague Zoo after accidentally hanging himself with a climbing rope, zoo officials said Friday.
The zoo said in a statement that 5-year-old Tatu was found hanging with a rope around his neck Friday morning in a sleeping room. Spokesman Michal Stastny said all attempts to revive Tatu failed.
He said there were no cameras in the room and it is not clear exactly what happened.
Mammals curator Pavel Brandl said Tatu likely unbraided one of the dozens ropes the gorillas use in their pavilion for climbing and put a strand around his neck before hanging himself.
"It was an accident," Brandl said. He said the ropes are checked daily.
Brandl said another gorilla, Kamba, appeared to be trying to help Tatu when zookeepers arrived but "it's hard to say what exactly she was doing."
Director Miroslav Bobek said the death was the most tragic event at the zoo since flooding in 2002 killed more than 100 animals.
The zoo still has six gorillas, and they are among the most popular animals there. Tens of thousands of people watched Tatu's birth online on May 30, 2007.

Is that a gun in your pocket?
A woman celebrating the weekend before her 25th birthday was fatally shot Sunday when she hugged an off-duty police officer while dancing at a party, causing the officer's service weapon to fire, according to police and her mother.
Adaisha Miller would have turned 25 on Monday, according to her mother, Yolanda McNair.
The shooting happened at an outdoor social gathering about 12:30 a.m., said police Sgt. Eren Stephens. It happened on the city's west side.
According to Stephens, the woman "embraced the officer from behind, causing the holstered weapon to accidently discharge." The bullet punctured Miller's lung and hit her heart, and she died at a hospital.
Stephens said the Detroit officer will remain on administrative duties while authorities investigate the shooting and report their findings to the Wayne County prosecutor. The officer's name was not released.
"For this to happen to her, whether they want to call it freak accident or mistake in judgment, it should have never happened to my child, and there's nothing I can do to get her back," McNair told WDIV-TV.
McNair said her daughter was out to mark her upcoming birthday.
"All she wanted to do was enjoy the weekend for her birthday," the mother said. "She had every right to enjoy turning 25 and look beyond that."

The old Switcharoo!
JUNE 11--A 24-year-old Massachusetts woman who allegedly masqueraded
as a teenage boy is facing federal charges for engaging in illicit
sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl who was unaware that the
boyfriend she met online was actually a female.
Carissa Hads was arrested two weeks ago on a U.S. District Court complaint accusing her of coercion or enticement of a minor, a felony carrying a maximum of 30 years in prison. On Friday, Hads was ordered held without bond by a federal magistrate judge who ruled she was a flight risk and a danger to the community.
Following Hads’s May 24 arrest, agents searched her front pants pocket and located a “fake, flesh-colored penis” that she apparently used during one of two prior sexual encounters with the teenage victim.
According to an affidavit sworn by an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigator, Hads--posing as a 17-year-old boy named “James Puryear Wilson”--met the teenage girl on an unnamed “social networking site” around October 2010.
“Wilson” maintained Facebook and MySpace pages that described him as a “youth pastor” living in Quincy, Massachusetts (where Hads actually resides). On Facebook, “Wilson” claimed to be the father of twins and noted that he was “looking for some people to talk to. No fake pages or pervs.”
The girl, who lives in West Virginia, is identified only as “A.L.” in the affidavit.
Hads, using the “Wilson” persona, and the girl became “involved in an internet romance” that included Hads sending the teen two cell phones “for A.L.’s use to contact ‘him.’” Along with paying the girl’s monthly cell phone bills, Hads also sent her a Kindle Fire tablet, according to the affidavit.
The teenager told investigators that she used the phones to take naked photos of herself, and that she “forwarded these pictures, some of which focused on her vagina, to ‘Wilson.’” Hads and the girl would also write in “notebooks/journals and mail them back and forth to each other so each could respond to the other’s writings.”
“Wilson” told “A.L.” that he lived in Massachusetts with his aunt, and told the girl that he also had an aunt “named Carissa Hads,” an investigator reported.
In December 2011, after communicating for 14 months, “Wilson” asked to meet “A.L.” in person. A subsequent rendezvous was arranged by the girl’s mother, who accompanied her daughter (and two other teenage girls) to meet “Wilson” at a Pennsylvania motel about 100 miles from the family’s West Virginia residence.
“Wilson,” who claimed to have flown from Massachusetts to the nearby Pittsburgh airport, stayed at the same motel “in a separate room paid for by A.L.’s mother,” according to the affidavit sworn by West Virginia State Trooper Robert Talkington.
During the group's stay at the motel, “‘Wilson’ digitally penetrated A.L.’s vagina,” Talkington charged.
Two months later, “Wilson” flew to West Virginia, and was picked up by the girl’s mother, who transported “Wilson” to her home. During that five-day stay in late-February, “Wilson” and “A.L.” “engaged in sexual intercourse,” according to the affidavit.
In a May 8 interview with law enforcement agents, the girl further described the sexual encounter in her home with “Wilson.” The teenager said that “Wilson,” who did not undress, “pulled his ‘penis’ through his unzipped pants, and held on to the base of the ‘penis’ during the sexual encounter.” The girl, who said the act was videotaped, “described the ‘penis’ as flesh-colored.”
The teenager said that “Wilson"--whom she never saw naked (or partially naked)--wore a back brace that “covered ‘his’ chest,” Talkington noted.
Hads, unaware that the girl had begun cooperating with law enforcement, was arrested last month after traveling to Pittsburgh for what she apparently thought would be a third sexual encounter with the teenage victim. The criminal probe of Hads was triggered by a tip sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The complainant alleged that “Wilson” had threatened the life of a 15-year-old girl (who is apparently an acquaintance of “A.L.”). “Wilson” reportedly threatened the teen after she told “A.L.” that she did not believe “Wilson” was “who ‘he’ said ‘he’ was,” according to the court affidavit.

The Zombie Apocalypse is here now.
A man whose face was eaten by a naked attacker in Miami is fighting for
his life as authorities try to piece together just what sparked the
horrific incident.
The identity of the two men remains unclear, although some reports suggest they may have been homeless men living beneath the MacArthur Causeway, which connects downtown Miami to South Beach.
The gruesome attack went down in broad daylight Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The two men are visible in surveillance video captured from a nearby building, but it is unclear if the entire horror show was recorded.
The pair of men appeared to be fighting, said Larry Vega, a Miami resident who first witnessed the nightmarish scene on an off-ramp by Biscayne Boulevard, which is near the offices of The Miami Herald newspaper.
“When I looked forward, there's a guy on top of another person, eating him up like, just tearing, tearing his face apart,” he told Local 10 News. “It’s going to take some time to forget. I never thought I would see someone else eating someone. It was really, really horrific.”
He alerted a police officer “that a homeless man was killing another person by biting and ripping his face to death.”
Vega said the cop ordered the man to stop, but he did not listen. He then drew his gun, but “the guy just stood... with pieces of flesh in his mouth and he growled,” he told WSVN 13 News.
The officer, who was not identified by police, then shot the Hannibal Lector wanna-be several times.
“Based on the information provided, our Miami police officer is a hero and saved a life,” Javier Ortiz, spokesman for Miami police’s Fraternal Order of Police told the Miami Herald.
The victim, who lost about 75% of his face, was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital, according to WSVN 13 News. He remains in crticial condition.
“What’s happening is whenever we see that a person has taken all of his clothes off and has become violent, it’s indicative of this excited delirium that’s caused by [an] overdose of drugs,” Armando Aguilar of the Miami Fraternal Order of Police told WSVN 13 News. “What’s happening is inside their body their organs are burning up alive.

Has the entire nation of Japan lost thier minds?
A Japanese artist cooked his own genitals and served them to five
paying diners in Tokyo to cover the medical costs, in a bizarre act to
raise awareness about sexual minorities.
Mao Sugiyama had his penis and testicles surgically removed in March and kept them frozen for two months before dishing them out -- seasoned and braised -- to customers at an event hall on May 13, according to postings on his Twitter account and local police.
Diners paid 20,000 yen ($250) for the plate with a portion of genitals. Pictures published on a website appeared to show the meal came complete with mushrooms and a parsley garnish.
The painter, who is reportedly 22, said on Twitter the organ had been removed by a physician and certified to be free of infections.
The meal was prepared under the supervision of a certified cook and diners were required to sign a waiver indemnifying Sugiyama and event organisers.
In May 18 tweets, the artist said steps were taken so the act met all relevant laws, including a ban on organ sales, processing of medical waste and even food sanitation requirements.
"I receive questions from some women and men... asking 'Will there be a next time? Please host it again.' But there is only one set of male organ," he tweeted on May 16.
Sugiyama, who considers himself "asexual", that is without gender, initially thought about eating the genitals himself, but decided to solicit paying customers to help pay his hospital bills for the surgery.
In an email to AFP, he confirmed the event had taken place and said it was organised to raise awareness about "sexual minorities, x-gender, asexual people". He said he was readying to publish an official account of the day.
Police in Tokyo said they knew of the episode, but added that it had not broken the law as cannibalism was not illegal in Japan.
"We are aware of the case. There was nothing (criminal) to it. It does not violate any detailed rules. There is nothing to take action about," an officer at Suginami police said.
Sugiyama sparked a firestorm of interest on April 8 with one tweet:
"[Please retweet] I am offering my male genitals (full penis, testes, scrotum) as a meal for 100,000 yen …Will prepare and cook as the buyer requests, at his chosen location."
On April 13, five of six diners who signed up for the $250-a-plate feast, sat down to dinner. The sixth person was a no-show.
The next day, an organizer posted a blog -- subsequently deleted -- containing pictures of the event. Images showed dozens of people who attended the event just to catch a glimpse of the rare treat.
The extra diners were served crocodile-based dishes while Sugiyama cooked up the exclusive meal.
The story went viral in Japan. Some showed even more interest, while others complained. But Calorie Lab called Japanese authorities, who deemed the banquet legal because there is no law against cannibalism in the country.

More people have brain tape worms than you think.
The number of people afflicted with brain tapeworms worldwide has been "grossly underestimated," a new study warns.
The brain tapeworms, which cause a disease called neurocysticercosis,
are most common in Central and South America. While the disease is rare
in the US and Europe, the disease is "still frequently diagnosed" in
migrant populations from the endemic areas, the study says. The
researchers also estimate that in areas where the disease originated, 29
percent of epilepsy cases are caused by brain tapeworms. "Overall, 1.7
to 3 million persons are conservatively estimated to suffer from
epilepsy due to NCC worldwide," the study says.
“Nobody knows exactly how many people there are with it in the United States,” the study's lead author, Theodore Nash, told Discover Magazine. Nash and other experts on the topic have been traveling through Latin America with CT scanners and blood tests to test populations for the disease, Discover reported. In a study in Peru, they found that 37 percent of the people they looked at had been infected by the tapeworm. Nash's study also shows that in Latin America, brain tapeworms may afflict up to 29 million people.
People can contract tapeworms from eating undercooked pork or from ingesting food or drink contaminated by feces from an infected person, the New York Times reported.
Nash sees a few dozen patients a year with brain tapeworms at his clinic in Maryland, Discover reported. His patients have come in paralyzed on one side of their body, unable to walk, unable to speak or partially blind. Some have had violent seizures and one went into a coma. But Nash stresses there are solutions to stopping the disease from starting, such as vaccinating pigs or giving drugs to people already infected so it won't spread. “All of this seems to be very feasible, but nobody wants to do anything about it,” he told Discover.

A man, a Zebra and a Parrot walk into this bar and...
DUBUQUE, Iowa - It sounds like the beginning of a joke. A man, a zebra, a parrot walk into a bar.
A Cascade man was arrested outside of a Dubuque bar on Sunday
night with a pet zebra and a macaw parrot in the front seat of his
truck.
Officers charged Jerald Reiter, 55, with OWI. Police reports say officers stopped him in the parking lot of the Dog House Lounge as he drove away in his truck. According to police, field sobriety tests showed Reiter had a blood alcohol level of .14. The legal limit in Iowa is .08.
Reiter tells KCRG.com that he and his girlfriend, Vickey Teters, see the animals like their kids and often take them for rides. On Sunday night, they say they took the zebra and the macaw to the bar because it often lets people bring their animals inside.
Reiter says the owner told him they were serving food that night and he couldn’t bring a zebra inside the bar. Bar owners tell KCRG.com that no animals are ever allowed inside the establishment.
At that time he went outside to put the animals in his truck and several people were in the parking lot taking pictures. He believes one of those people called police.
Reiter disputes the charges and says he realized he was too drunk to drive and was about to let a passenger in the truck to take the wheel when he was arrested.
Online records show Mr. Reiter was released from the Dubuque County Jail May 21, 2012.

Drunken weightlifting is not a good idea.
BRIGHTON, England -
A British man was crushed to death while attempting to lift weights in his garage.
Chris Bailey, 28, decided to go for a workout Saturday after going out drinking with his landlord until 3:00am local time in Brighton, southeastern England, the Brighton Argus reported.
Landlord Oliver Steel, 57, found his body in the garage later that day after he woke up to find the front door open.
He told the newspaper, "I found him on the bench with the bar across his chest. I tried to wake him, but I knew he was dead. I had to try and lift the weight off him, which wasn't easy because it was so heavy. I tried to resuscitate him, but he was gone."
Paramedics were initially called to the home just after noon local time Saturday. His death is being treated as unexplained. An autopsy was underway Monday.

Ride-By Groper on Mountain Bike Strikes in Santa Monica
A man accused of groping women as he rides past on a mountain bike has struck at least six times in the Santa Monica area.
The first of the six similar assaults was reported Jan. 27. In all cases, the suspect uses his mountain bike to get away.
“The suspect just rides up and gropes women,” said Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department.
Three of the case occurred on Broadway between Princeton and Stanford. Two others were reported on Stanford just north of 6th Street. The final attack happened on Franklin and Arizona.
The suspect has been described about 30 years old, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium to heavy build, having straight black hair, slicked back. His clothing has varied with each incident.
If you have any information you’re asked to call Santa Monica Police at 310-458-8427.
Cascade Creature
A mysterious creature was caught by underwater cameras recently during deep-sea drilling near the United Kingdom.
The camera catches the giant blob – which looks brown in color and appears to have scales — floating around, with organs and appendages sticking out, something rarely ever seen before.
So … should we be afraid of this new sea creature and will it take over the world?
Steven Haddock, a scientist for the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in Moss Landing, Calif., says that the mysterious creature is a Deepstaria enigmatica jellyfish, much to the chagrin of some Reddit users who thought it was a whale placenta.
“This bag-like jelly is not that rare, but is large, so rarely seen intact,” Haddock said on his “JellyWatch” Facebook page. “In the video, the swirling from the sub makes the medusa appear to undulate and it even turns inside-out.”
This type of jellyfish is usually found in the south Atlantic Ocean, some 5,000 feet below. According to the Marine Species Identification Portal, the jellyfish has “oral arms […] terminating in curious hook-shaped organ[s].”

Here kitty, kitty!
A local woman’s arm was injured severely after her boyfriend’s pet lynx attacked her at home.
According to KING-TV, the woman was attacked Friday while she was cleaning. It reportedly escaped from its cage and bit her.
“There was a lynx cat – a pet that lived in the house – and a girlfriend,” Jenee Westbend, King County Animal Control officer, told the station. “The cat got jealous of the girlfriend, who was vacuuming, and it jumped on her and bit her.”
When medics arrived on the scene, the lynx was still out in the open. When the victim’s boyfriend came home and secured the animal, medics and local authorities entered the premises to check on the woman.
She should recover fully, though neighbors have allegedly noticed the
animal wandering around inside the house on other occasions.
“I kind of felt sorry for the cat living in a house, pacing back and forth, back and forth,” Bruce Walker, the couple’s neighbor, to KING-TV.
Animal Control took the animal to a local veterinarian’s office, where it remains in quarantine. It is illegal to house a wild cat in most situations, and Animal Control is looking further into the situation. Investigations are usually conducted any time a pet attacks a person.

Cannibal pills seen as cure all and stamina booster
I have to admit this is more than fairly odd. This is way odd. weird in fact. ~ Editor
Thousands of pills filled with powdered human flesh have been discovered by customs officials in South Korea, it was revealed today.
The capsules are in demand because they are viewed as being a medicinal 'cure-all'.
The grim trade is being run from China where corrupt medical staff are said to be tipping off medical companies when babies are aborted or delivered still-born.
The tiny corpses are then bought, stored in household refrigerators in homes of those involved in the trade before they are removed and taken to clinics where they are placed in medical drying microwaves.
Once the skin is tinder dry, it is pummeled into powder and then processed into capsules along with herbs to disguise the true ingredients from health investigators and customs officers.
The discoveries since last August has shocked even hardened customs agents who have pledged to strengthen inspections.
Chinese officials are understood to have been aware of the trade and have tried to stop the capsules being exported but thousands of packets of them have been smuggled through to South Korea.
There is a huge demand for alternative Chinese remedies - which include ground up rhino horns.
The Chinese have historically consumed human placentas to improve blood supply and circulation.
Health authorities in Asia are concerned that if the powdered foetus trade is allowed to continue the capsules will find their way onto the internet and be sold to gullible or sick desperate people in other parts of the world.
The South Korean Customs Service said today that it had heightened its searches of suspicious packages being brought into the country by travelers from China in an attempt to stamp out the sickening trade.
According to customs agents, 35 smuggling attempts have been made since August last year involving more than 17,000 capsules disguised as 'stamina boosters'.
Hospitals and abortion clinics in China reportedly pass the remains onto drugs companies when a baby is stillborn or aborted, the South Korean SBS documentary team reported last year.
The San Francisco Times reported that tests carried out on the pills confirmed they were made up of 99.7 per cent human remains.
The tests were successfully able to establish the genders of the babies used.
There is a huge demand for the pills which are thought to enhance stamina. Microwave-dried placenta is also sought after for its alleged 'medicinal' benefits.
However, in reality the human flesh capsules contain super-bacteria and other harmful ingredients.
A number of smugglers who have been detained by the South Korean authorities have claimed they did not know what the ingredients were or the manufacturing process behind them.
'Ethnic Koreans from north-east China who now live in South Korea are those who were mostly intending to use the capsules or share them with other Korean-Chinese' said a customs official.
'They are normally brought into South Korea in luggage or posted by international mail.'
Chinese newspapers have identified the north eastern provinces as the source of the human flesh capsules, in particular the Jilin region which is close to North Korea.
There have been disturbing reports that some babies were those who had perished in China's notorious 'dying rooms' where youngsters are deliberately left to die because they were born into families that already had the limit of one child in country areas.
In order to keep its population down, China performs 13 million abortions a year - mainly because mothers sacrifice their newborns to avoid punishment such as severe fines or even a beating by the authorities.
The Chinese authorities have confirmed that 38 per cent of women of child-bearing age have been sterilized - but the babies that are aborted do not go to waste because of the sickening trade in using their corpses for purported medicinal purposes.
Despite their disgust at discovering packets of the so-called rejuvenation pills being brought in from China, South Korean officials have refused to confirm where the babies came from or who made the capsules.
Sources said this was because they were not prepared to create diplomatic friction with Beijing, preferring to leave it to Chinese officials to do something about the horrific trade in powdered babies.

Man drunk. Monkey Sober both pulled over.
LARGO, Fla.
(AP) -- A Florida man is charged with felony drunken driving and
wildlife violations after police discovered a small monkey in his truck.
Largo
Police say Eugene Carl Kotelman was speeding when they stopped him
Thursday. He was driving on a suspended license and had been previously
charged numerous times with driving on a suspended license and DUI.
Officers noticed a "small monkey" in Kotelman's truck and released the primate to his friend.
After
Kotelman was released on bond from the DUI charge, Florida Fish and
Wildlife Conservation Commission officers charged him with possession of
wildlife and two counts of violating fish and wildlife rules. They took
custody of the monkey.
Police did not have a way to contact Kotelman and no current phone listing could be found.

Motorcycle Seat gives man hard on that will not stop
SAN FRANCISCO (WWJ) - BMW North America has probably
had to deal with plenty of unusual lawsuits, but one filed last week
may be a first — a California man says the seat on his motorcycle has
given him an erection he just can’t shake.
Henry Wolf of California is suing BMW America and aftermarket seatmaker Corbin-Pacific claiming his issue began after a four-hour ride on his 1993 BMW motorcycle, with a ridge like seat. Wolf is seeking compensation for lost wages, medical expenses, emotional distress and what he calls “general damage.”
He said he’s had the erection non-stop for 20 months. And it comes
with another side effect: The lawsuit says Wolf is “now is unable to
engage in sexual activity, which is causing him substantial emotional
and mental anguish.”
WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with Dr. Michael Lutz, at the Michigan
Institute of Urology, who said there is no medical data to support the
man’s claim. However, “It’s been long-known that compression of the
neurovascular supply to the penis — if it’s compressed for a period of
time, whether it be on a bicycle seat or some other device — it can
actually cause prolonged numbness of the genitalia,” Lutz said.
“Not only in men, but women can also get numbness in that region if they’re compressing those nervous structures to that region of the body,” he said.
BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan in Canton, Mich., checked out the story and noted the man wasn’t riding a standard BMW motorcycle seat. He was on an after-market seat, which start at about $200. People generally buy them to make the ride more comfortable.
“Sometimes people say it’s more comfortable, sometimes people can get a tall seat or a low seat or they’re shorter or taller, they can come heated,” said Theresa at BMW Motorcycles of Southeast Michigan.

Is that a methlab in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?
OKMULGEE, Okla. - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a portable methamphetamine lab exploded in a man’s pants as he tried to run away from a state trooper during a traffic stop.
Tulsa television station KOTV reports the incident happened shortly after midnight Friday in Okmulgee County. Authorities say the man tried to run away when the trooper asked him about a chemical smell.
Trooper Shiloh Hall says the man had an active meth lab in his pants that burst during a struggle with the trooper. The man was checked out by emergency personnel and booked in the Okmulgee County jail on a drug charge.
A portable meth lab is also known as a one-pot lab, where a smaller batch of the drug is manufactured.

Stoned Emo kids. No really they got stoned to death.
At least 90 Iraqi teenagers with "emo" appearances have been stoned to death by religious extremists in Baghdad in the past month after an inflammatory interior ministry statement dubbed it "devil worshiping", activists said.
Iraq's Moral Police released a chilling statement on the interior ministry's website condemning the "emo phenomenon" among Iraqi youth, disturbingly declaring its intent to "eliminate" the trend.
"The 'Emo phenomenon' or devil worshiping is being followed by the Moral Police who have the approval to eliminate [the phenomenon] as soon as possible since it's detrimentally affecting the society and becoming a danger," the statement read.
"They wear strange, tight clothes that have pictures on them such as skulls and use stationary that are shaped as skulls. They also wear rings on their noses and tongues, and do other strange activities," it continued.
Religious extremists caught onto the interior ministry statement, and have been harassing and killing teenagers with "strange" or "emo" appearances.
A group of armed men dressed in civilian clothing led dozens of teenagers to secluded areas a few days ago, stoned them to death, and then disposed their bodies in garbage dumpsters across the capital, according to activists.
The armed men are said to belong to “one of the most extremist religious groups” in Iraq.
“First they throw concrete blocks at the boy's arms, then at his legs, then the final blow is to his head, and if he is not dead then, they start all over again,” one person who managed to escape told Al-Akhbar.
Iraq's moral police was granted approval by the Ministry of Education to enter Baghdad schools and pinpoint students with such appearances, according to the interior ministry's statement.
The exact death toll remains unclear, but Hana al-Bayaty of Brussels Tribunal, an NGO dealing with Iraqi issues, said the current figure ranges "between 90 and 100."
"What's most disturbing about this is that they're so young," she said.
Al-Bayaty said the killings appear to have been carried out by extremist Shia militias in mostly poor Shia neighborhoods and said she suspected "there's complicity of the Ministry of Interior in the killings."
Photos of the victims were released on Facebook, causing panic and fear among Iraqi students.
A young man with long hair expressed alarm at the government-ordained harassment of teenagers with Western appearances.
“I have long hair but that doesn't mean I'm an Emo. I'm not less of a man if I have long hair. Let's not say that if I have long hair, I'm a homosexual, but I have long hair because this is my style, this is me," he told Iraq's Al-Sharqiya television network.
Safiyyah al-Suhail, an MP, said on Thursday that "some students have been recently arrested because they were wearing American jeans or had Western haircuts."
The interior ministry has not disclosed the number of teenage victims, but released a follow-up statement on Thursday warning extremists "not to step on public freedom of Iraqis."
News of the gruesome deaths drew a stern reaction from Iraq's prominent Shia cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, who criticized the stoning of the young men as "an act of terrorism."
Below is the full English translation of the Iraqi interior ministry's inflammatory statement (original Arabic here):
The Director of the Moral Police of the Interior Ministry released a statement, saying "The 'Emo phenomenon' or devil worshiping is being followed by the Moral Police who have the approval to eliminate [the phenomenon] as soon as possible since it's detrimentally affecting the society and becoming a danger."
'Emo' comes from the English word 'emotional' and the phenomenon is popular among teenagers not only in Iraq, but in most societies. They use their appearances and movements as a method to express their emotions and embody their will and their view of life in their behavior.
Colonel Mushtaq Taleb al-Mahemdawi said: "The Emo Phenomenon was discovered a while back by members of our force in Baghdad. A report has been made and given to the Ministry of Interior to receive an approval to carry on with the investigation and to know how to eliminate the phenomenon."
He added: "The Ministry of Interior took this situation very seriously and received an approval from the Ministry of Education to set a plan under my full supervision and to allow us to enter schools in the capital."
"There are some cases of the spread of this phenomenon specifically among schools in Baghdad, but we are facing great difficulty in the lack of women on the force who would allow us to carry the investigation more accurately since the phenomenon is more popular among girls between the ages of 14 and 18."
"They wear strange, tight clothes that have pictures on them such as skulls and use stationary that are shaped as skulls. They also wear rings on their noses and tongues, and do other strange activities."

A Hawk ate my dog
Former Miss USA and Playboy model Shanna Moakler says one of her dogs
is missing and another is under veterinary care after the animals were
attacked by a hawk at her Calabasas home.
“A eagle attacked my 2 chi’s today, my girl pup is at the vet, my boy is missing, between my cat and my pups, i’m about to f**n kill things,” she tweeted Monday, but later referred to the animal as a hawk.
“Not gonna lie, feel like hunting hawks today… don’t feel bad about it either,” she tweeted Wednesday.
“I live in a neighborhood where coyotes and hawks are prevalent,” Moakler told Hollyscoop. “We took the dogs outside to go to the bathroom and they were attacked by a hawk. My one puppy may have lost an eye, we won’t know for a couple weeks and the bird flew off with my other puppy. It was like out of a movie.”
“I just hope people with small dogs will start taking precautions with their pets outside and try to protect them from predators. I hope people just remember not to take things for granted as you never know when they can be gone, both people and fur babies,” she added.
Moakler has two children with Blink-182 and Box Car Racer drummer Travis Barker.

Dance...I said Dance.
Just remember always to think twice before ordering someone to dance the “moonwalk” at the barrel of a gun.
An Idaho man has been hit with a felony assault charge for allegedly forcing another man to perform Michael Jackson’s signature “moonwalk” while having a rifle pointed at him, the Bonner County Daily Bee reported.
Police accused John Ernest Cross, 30, of using an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle while issuing the bizarre order to mimic a dance the late King of Pop debuted back in 1983.
His bail was set at $20,000 and he was reportedly ordered to steer clear of the moonwalking victim.

Indian Politicians are not taking no vampire nonsense.
Indian politicians, like their American brethren, are susceptible to political hyperbole it seems.
The blog io9.com reports that villages around Dharmapuri seem to have a problem with dead cattle that have been drained of blood. Apparently, people have their knickers in a twist because obviously this can only be the work of vampires. Villagers are staying off the streets after the sun sets.
Bwa … bwah … bwahahahahaha. Ahem.
In order to quell the villagers’ fears and to shake constituents out of their belief that a member of the undead is responsible for the felled cows, local politicians have put a price on the sneaky vamps’ heads. About $2,000 worth of rupees to be exact.
Take that, superstition! Before anyone starts feeling all superior, let us remind you that Members of the United States Congress have proposed the Human Chimera Prohibition Act, the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act and the alligator moat immigration proposition to name a few equally alarmist proposals.

This is flight 221 heavy bound for Crazy Town do you hear me tower?
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – A disturbance on-board an American Airlines flight scares passengers and lands a man in police custody.
Flight 2401 left Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport bound for Los Angeles. Passenger Lori Barber said about 15 minutes into the flight a man charged past her, demanding to see the pilot.
Barber told NewsRadio 1080 KRLD the man was hard to miss.
“Well he was wearing two pairs of glasses, one with a red beam coming out of the lens, and he had three or four ‘man purses’ on and he had Superman socks on,” she recalled.
After preventing the man from entering the cockpit, he was subdued and the flight continued.
A spokesman with American Airlines said the FBI took the man into custody at LAX, for exhibiting “suspicious” behavior during the flight.
Barber said the man was acting strangely before boarding the plane and that flight attendants witnessed it. She feels he should not have been allowed to get onboard.
American confirmed that no weapons were found on or used by the passenger.
There were nearly 150 people on-board the plane when the incident happened.

Man killed buried under 20-foot mound of pinto beans
Raymond Segura Jr. was pronounced dead at the Brush, Colorado, facility of the Kelley Bean Company after efforts to reach him alive were unsuccessful, Morgan County Undersheriff Dave Martin said.
Martin said emergency personnel were summoned to the site at 11:30 a.m. on reports of a worker trapped in a pile of loose pinto beans. Martin said dozens of rescue workers and even four inmates from the county jail spent an hour digging through a 20-foot high mound of the legumes to get to the trapped worker, but he was dead when crews reached him.
Segura was a longtime resident of the area and had worked at the warehouse for between 12 and 15 years, Martin said.
The cause of the accident, how the victim became trapped and the exact cause of death are under investigation, he added.
Police: Family chanted, disrobed at Pa. school
UPPER DARBY, Pa. - Authorities say four family members were arrested after stripping naked outside a suburban Philadelphia high school and chanting "God is great."
Upper Darby police say it happened around 1 p.m. Friday in a parking lot outside school.
Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says investigators don't know why 44-year-old Sarah Butler and three of her children — 23-year-old Joanne Butler, 22-year-old Bessie Butler and a 14-year-old son — decided to disrobe.
He says the mother had gone there around 10 a.m., demanding to see a student. After she was denied admission, Chitwood says the family lay on the ground and began chanting, eventually shedding their clothing.
Chitwood says the adults will be charged with defiant trespass, disorderly conduct and open lewdness. A telephone listing for them could not be found.

Man Shot At Detroit Gas Station, Reportedly Over Price Of Condoms
A man was shot and killed Friday night after an apparent dispute over the price of condoms at a Detroit gas station.
WWJ’s Beth Fisher spoke to an employee at the BP gas station on Fenkell and Meyers, where the shooting took place on the city’s westside overnight. The employee said the argument was apparently over the price of a box of condoms.
He said the customer bought a box of condoms, but made a comment that he was overcharged and could have bought them somewhere else for a cheaper price. After being told he couldn’t get a refund, the customer allegedly began tossing items off the shelves. That’s when, according to the employee, the overnight clerk came out with a gun and fired a warning shot, which struck the customer in the shoulder.
Police say the customer was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Ron Scott, with the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality, said they are working on conflict resolution between gas station owners and Detroiters, something they will be discussing at a meeting on Sunday.
“We can’t have this kind of attitude and this kind of disrespect for life. Whether it happens to people who work in the gas station or definitely if it happens to people in the community. From what I’m understanding, the price of a condom should not be somebody’s life,” said Scott.
Police say the store clerk, whose name has not been released, is in custody. An investigation is ongoing.
The shooting comes during an increase of violent crime in Detroit.
In another recent incident at a gas station, an 86-year-old World War II veteran was assaulted and his car was stolen in broad daylight. After several people passed by him as he crawled, unable to walk because his leg was broken in the attack, the man tried to pay a stranger to drive him home. The good Samaritan man drove him for free, and called an ambulance. Days later, a 21-year-old suspect was arrested.
Charges are pending.
Detroit Councilman Kwame Kenyatta is drafting an ordinance that would require gas station owners to hire security guards to protect the public. “And as we watch this man was beaten on camera and crawled into the station, never once did I see the proprietor, as well as the people who were going to that gas station, help that individual. We are saying secure your facility, safeguard us as a community,” said Kenyatta.
Scott said part of the problem is the general relationship between customers in the communities and gas station owners and employees.
“The problem basically is that you have people who work in the stations who do not have a reasonable relationship with the community, where the respect for the dollars that they spend is accorded to them in the terms of human respect. On the other hand, you do have people in the neighborhood who come in, or people who might engage in negative activity, where the lives of the owners are threatened,” said Scott.
What it comes down to, said Scott, is respect.
“I’ve been in similar situations in some of these stores where I’ve been disrespected. And now we’re talking about young, specifically African-American men. One of the major things in the community that you want is respect… and I think people here don’t have skills in terms of de-escalation of violence,” said Scott.
Other recent crimes in Detroit include a 27-year-old man who allegedly shot three people, two who died; a 14-year-old boy who apparently shot and killed his mother while she slept; two teens who are accused of shooting a 6-year-old boy during a carjacking spree; and a 9-month-old boy who died after someone sprayed his family’s home with bullets from an AK-47.

Suspect killed, ate homeless man
LYNN HAVEN — A man who allegedly killed and ate a homeless person traveled to Lynn Haven where he was arrested, Lynn Haven police said Wednesday.
Tyree Smith, 34, of Bridgeport, Conn., told a family member that he killed the victim with a hatchet, police wrote in a news release. Smith, who was covered in blood at the time, added that "after he bludgeoned the victim he took pieces of brain matter and his eye, which he consumed," police said.
After the confession, Smith took a bus and arrived Monday in Lynn Haven, where he stayed with a female friend, officials said. Investigators were able to locate Smith at 7 p.m. Tuesday night at an apartment on Illinois Avenue. The woman he was staying with "was unaware of Smith's actions and is cooperating in the investigation," officials wrote.
The Connecticut Post reported Smith is being charged in the death of Angel "Tun Tun" Gonzalez, 43.The newspaper reported Smith had gone to sleep on the back porch of a building, but Gonzalez later woke him and invited him in from the cold. Once in the abandoned home where Gonzalez lived, Smith killed Gonzalez, according to an affidavit the newspaper obtained.

Undercover police had children with activists
Two undercover police officers secretly fathered children with political campaigners they had been sent to spy on and later disappeared completely from the lives of their offspring, the Guardian can reveal.
In both cases, the children have grown up not knowing that their biological fathers – whom they have not seen in decades – were police officers who had adopted fake identities to infiltrate activist groups. Both men have concealed their true identities from the children's mothers for many years.
One of the spies was Bob Lambert, who has already admitted that he tricked a second woman into having a long-term relationship with him, as part of an intricate attempt to bolster his credibility as a committed campaigner.
The second police spy followed the progress of his child and the child's mother by reading confidential police reports which tracked the mother's political activities and life.
The disclosures are likely to intensify the controversy over the long-running police operation to infiltrate and sabotage protest groups.
Police chiefs claim that undercover officers are strictly forbidden from having sexual relationships with the activists they are spying on, describing the situations as "grossly unprofessional" and "morally wrong".
But that claim has been undermined as many of the officers who have been unmasked have admitted to, or have been accused of, having sex with the targets of their surveillance.
Last month eight women who say they were duped into forming long-term intimate relationships of up to nine years with five undercover policemen started unprecedented legal action. They say they have suffered immense emotional trauma and pain over the relationships, which spanned the period from 1987 to 2010.
Until now it was not known that police had secretly fathered children while living undercover. One of them is Lambert, who adopted a fake persona to infiltrate animal rights and environmental groups in the 1980s.
After he was unmasked in October, he admitted that as "Bob Robinson" he had conned an innocent woman into having an 18-month relationship with him, apparently so that he could convince activists he was a real person. She is one of the women taking the legal action against police chiefs.
Now the Guardian can reveal that in the mid-1980s, just a year into his deployment, Lambert fathered a boy with another woman, who was one of the activists he had been sent to spy on.
The son lived with his mother during the early years of his life as his parents' relationship did not last long. During that time, Lambert was in regular contact with the infant, fitting visits to him around his clandestine duties.
After two years, the mother married another man and both of them took responsibility for raising the child. Lambert says the woman was keen that he give up his legal right to maintaining contact with his son and cut him out of her new life. He says the agreement was reached amicably and he has not seen or heard of the mother or their son since then.
Lambert did not tell her or the child that he was a police spy as he needed to conceal his real identity from the political activists he was spying on. The Guardian is not naming the woman or the child to protect their privacy.
Lambert was married during his secret mission, which continued until 1988. The highly secretive operation to monitor and disrupt political activists, which has been running for four decades, has come under mounting scrutiny since last year following revelations over the activities of Mark Kennedy, the undercover police officer who went rogue after burying himself deep in the environmental movement for seven years.
Police chiefs and prosecutors have set up 12 inquiries over the past year to examine allegations of misconduct involving police spies, but all of them have been held behind closed doors. There have been continuing calls, including from the former director of public prosecutions Ken Macdonald, for a proper public inquiry.
The second case involves an undercover policeman who was sent to spy on activists some years ago. He had a short-lived relationship with a political activist which produced a child.
He concealed his real identity from the activist and child as he was under strict orders to keep secret his undercover work from her and the other activists in the group he infiltrated. He then disappeared, apparently after his superiors ended his deployment. Afterwards, she remained under surveillance as she continued to be politically active, while he carried on with his police career.
The Guardian understands that as he had access to the official monitoring reports, he regularly read details of her life with a close interest. He watched as she grew older and brought up their child as a single parent, according to an individual who is aware of the details of the case.
The policeman has been "haunted" by the experience of having no contact with the child, whom he thought about regularly, according to the individual.

Over the top on the ding dong ditch
A Rockville Centre attorney is under arrest after allegedly holding a suspected teenage prankster at gunpoint until officers arrived at her home Sunday night, Nassau County police said.
Bernadette Greenwald, 47, apparently lost her cool after someone repeatedly rang her doorbell and ran from the home around 11:15 p.m. Sunday.
The “ding, dong, ditch” prank was apparently carried out three times and after the last incident, police said Greenwald, a former Bronx Assistant District Attorney, grabbed her .9 mm pistol and fired one round into the air in front of her house.
Police said Greenwald later saw a 17-year-old boy walking in front of her N. Forest Avenue home. She allegedly approached the teen and pointed the gun at him. Greenwald’s retired Air Force pilot apparently returned home to discover the youth inside his home.
“[Greenwald's husband] arrived during the incident. He did see his wife with a gun. It’s a licensed gun, it is registered to her. In the house with the wife holding the gun, He pulled the kid outside the house, and waited for the police,” attorney Mitchell Barnett said.
According to court papers, a 17-year-old teen testified “I had 5 or 6 beers” and then walked towards the Greenwald’s home. “A woman appeared at the front door with a gun,” papers said. “I was scared…I put my hands up in the air.”
The teen’s shaken mother told CBS 2′s Jennifer McLogan: “I’m very emotional right now. My son did not do anything wrong.”
Greenwald has been charged with menacing, reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a dangerous weapon. The married mother of two declined to comment on her arrest when reached by 1010 WINS.
Barnett, said his client was home alone with her two children Sunday night and felt threatened. He also contended that the teenager had been found loitering on the Greenwald property in the past.
